Trevor Bauer And Danny Salazar Gave Carlos Carrasco A Gatorade Bath For An 8-2/3 Hitless Performance

As a Cleveland Indians fan, I’ve only felt the nervousness I did tonight on two other occasions. Game seven of the 1997 World Series against the Florida Marlins and the Wild Card game against the Tampa Bay Rays in 2013.

Both wanted to make me puke. Both ended unfavorably.

Tonight was no different.

Carlos Carrasco took his perfect game into the seventh inning and came out with a no hitter intact after walking a batter. He ended up getting to 8-2/3 inning (2 outs in the 9th for those of you who don’t give a shit) and had his batter in the hole with two strikes. Unfortunately, Joey Butler connected and put it just out of the reach of second basemen Jason Kipnis.

Still, though, Carrasco’s pitching brethren decided his performance warranted a Gatorade bath.

Who am I to argue?
