A lot of people are against the new MLB review policy. The Cleveland Indians are not those people.
Last night during their game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Tribe turned one of the crazier triple plays we’ve ever seen.
In the bottom of the 4th inning, Adrian Gonzalez hit a liner to Michael Brantley in left field. Brantley caught it and unloaded his cannon of an arm to the plate. Catcher Yan Gomes got the perfect throw and laid the tag down on Dee Gordon.
Yan Gomes then turned and fired a strike to a waiting Jason Kipnis at second base who got his tag down just before Yasiel Puig got there.
Initially Puig was called safe and the Indians challenged the call. The call was overturned. Then Dodgers manager Don Mattingly challenged the play at the plate. It was upheld.
Just your everyday 7-2-4 triple play.
