North Carolina vs. Duke Preview

Tonight is the best night of college basketball. Tonight is the Tobacco Road Rivalry. Tonight Psycho T and Dancin’ Danny Green attempt to go 4-0 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. They will be the first players to do so since my arch rival Tim Duncan did it while playing for Wake Forest. North Carolina got the wake up call early on in conference play after dropping their first 2 ACC games. Now, after rattling off 7 straight wins, they look to come away from Duke with sole possession of the number one spot in the ACC. Duke is coming off a near miss overtime win at Miami and an absolute 27 point trouncing by Clemson, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The Blue Devils are going to have their hands full with Psycho T down low and Danny Green and Sir Wayne Ellington on the wings. Something tells me their allowing a league leading 61 points per game average is going to sky rocket after playing the most explosive team in college basketball. Sir Wayne has been on fire as of late, scoring 20 in the last 4 of 6 games while shooting 51% from behind the arc. 51%? That is sicker than Weezy’s watch. Paulus and Scheyer shouldn’t be a problem for UNC either. The two are in slumps right now and Paulus has only started 2 games this season. Singler is also in a shooting slump going 5-23 against Miami. If Paulus somehow gets the start tonite, it should be entertaining because he will have the impossible task of keeping up with the UNC guards. I wonder if Paulus has nightmares about Danny Green posterizing him last year. Danny Green jumped over him like he was a hurdle. Then again, how hard could it have been for Danny to dunk on a 3 year player (at that time) that seemingly gets worse every year? Hey, at least he isn’t a cry baby bitch like his predecessor. I think it is going to be hard for a team that is not as fast or as potent offensively to keep up with the Heels. It will probably be close early on because of high flying emotions from the rivalry, but after the dust settles UNC will be number 1 in the ACC. Know that.

Final Score: 78-65 Tar Heels
