Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson had the po-po called on him Tuesday afternoon. How many of you just rolled your eyes? It has become all too familiar of a scene for the police to cuff and stuff pro athletes after they make a boneheaded decision (I’m looking directly at Shin-Soo Choo right now). But what happens when it is just a lil ol’ case of racial profiling?
Yesterday afternoon the police in Orlando received an anonymous “non-specific” tip about high end cars entering and exiting Chris Johnson’s condo complex yesterday.
Holy shit, I would have called the cops too.
What in the hell would prompt someone to call the police when luxury cars are entering and exiting a pro football players house? High end cars? Must mean drugs. Idiots.
The police actually responded to this phone call and went and did what they called a “knock and talk” to see if everything was legit and legal at the household. I would love to see how that played out….
knock, knock, knock…
“Sir, we received and anonymous tip that high end cars where entering and exiting your premisis”
“So?”
“So where are the drugs?”
Police said that Johnson was cordial and cooperative during the ordeal, which MTV was present for because of filming for an upcoming show. Police officers determined there was nothing illegal about what was going on…D U H.
Chris Johnson might want to do a “knock and talk” with his neighbors to find out who is the racist asshole with the binoculars watching his every move. Even more outrageous is the Orlando Police department for responding to a call about high end vehicles entering and exiting a location. I don’t even want to know how many times they are called to Morton’s Steakhouse per night.
Johnson later tweeted about the situation…
“Y did the police just walk in my condo saying they think it’s drug activity because it’s alot of traffic but it was the MTV camera crew.”
And continued later…
“Hard being young, black and rich.”
I agree Chris, probably almost as hard as being old, white and poor.
