Big Hit Laid on James Harrison

Tuesday, the NFL handed down a rather steep penalty by fining Steelers linebacker James Harrison for his concussion inducing hit on Moahamed Massaquoi during Sunday’s game against the Browns.  The NFL has slapped Harrison with a $75,000 fine.  I thought it was a bit of stretch when I suggested a $30,000 fine but it is obvious that Roger Goodell is making a statement.  Although the NFL says that it will start handing out suspensions for dangerous and flagrant hits, Harrison will not miss any playing time.  The hit Harrison had earlier in the game that knocked Joshua Cribbs out of the game was not reviewed by the NFL.
