If you’re in your mid-late 20’s you are sure to remember the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoons and movies. And if you are in that said demographic, then you are sure to remember Vanilla Ice rocking a mic like a vandal during the early 90’s. And if both of those facts hold true, then I am going to go out on a limb and guess that you fondly recall when the two pop culture icons crossed paths in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze.
What better way to get through your hump day than getting slapped in the face with a hard backhand of nostalgia? Today, it comes in the form of a new commercial from Kraft featuring Vanilla Ice and his hit from the above mentioned cinematic masterpiece, “Ninja Rap”.
In the new spot from Kraft, Ice is shown stocking the shelves of a grocery store while singing “Ninja Rap” to himself when a young mother and her son come upon him. The mother is in the demographic we talked about and is obviously fondly remember the days of Vanilla Ice and TMNT. Her son, though, is not amused.
And just so we’re all on the same page. Below is the original. And because I know you all so well, here is a link to Amazon to buy Secret of the Ooze.
