Welcome to episode 085 of the Thunder Treats Podcast! The second full week of NFL games is in our back pocket but all anyone can seem to talk about is Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson, Greg Hardy and Ray McDonald. All of those players were somehow directly abused someone close to them. Rice, though, is trying to appeal his indefinite suspension after assaulting his wife while Adrian Peterson — who has been accused of abusing his four year old son — has been activated again. AP’s might be the most ridiculous, especially since he has been accused of abusing another one of his sons.
Greg Hardy remains deactivated (bravo, Panthers) but Ray McDonald played Sunday night for the 49ers. The Niners have said that they will decide what to do with McDonald when/if he is formally charged.
Yawn. That’s all anyone is talking about. Don’t worry, we didn’t cover it very long.
We did talk about Oscar Pistorius getting away with murder was a pretty big story that was shadowed by the NFL. He was found guilty of culpable homicide (manslaughter), so he may see some jail time after all.
Jonathan Papelbon gave Philly fans a handful of his junk when exiting the field and umpire Cowboy Joe West gave him the heave hoe. Papelbon got a seven game suspension. Was it justified?
Urban Outfitters are a bunch of assholes and we also have a brand new poetic reading of a Nelly song. We didn’t do Urban Dictionary trivia because…well…I forgot to write it down.
